- Create opportunities for children to explore, investigate and use their imagination
- Plan experiences around children's individual interests and developmental needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and learning through purposeful play
- Make creative use of the nursery's natural materials and inspiring learning spaces
- Observe children's development and support meaningful next steps
- Build positive relationships with children and their families
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain a welcoming and stimulating environment
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing

- full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Previous experience within a nursery or Early Years setting
- Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development
- Confidence supporting both individualised learning and purposeful play
- The ability to recognise children's interests and turn them into engaging learning opportunities
- A warm, nurturing and responsive approach
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
