Overview

Head Chef – Luxury Nursing Home | £14.20 per hour | 35 hours per week (40 hours one week and 30 the next). Bring your passion for fine dining and your love of fresh, seasonal ingredients to a setting where your work matters. We’re looking for a talented Head Chef to lead a dedicated kitchen team in a beautiful, high-end nursing home, creating exceptional meals that nourish, comfort, and delight our residents every day. This is more than just a kitchen role – it\\\’s a chance to design and deliver restaurant-quality dining. You\\\’ll have the freedom to craft nutritious, flavour-packed menus that reflect residents\\\’ preferences and dietary needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a small kitchen team to deliver a premium dining experience.
  • Plan, prepare, and present fresh, high-quality meals for older adults.
  • Develop varied menus that accommodate dietary needs, allergies, and nutritional requirements.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene, food safety, and presentation.
  • Oversee ordering, stock control, and kitchen budgets efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with care and hospitality teams to enhance residents\\\’ wellbeing through food.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef, ideally within a Nursing Home environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a passion for mentoring others.
  • In-depth knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and allergy management.
  • Creativity and attention to detail in menu design and presentation.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) preferred.
