They are now looking for an experienced and conscientious Nursery Chef to take ownership of the kitchen and ensure every child receives nutritious, safe, and delicious meals every single day.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving balanced, nutritious meals.
- Ensuring all meals are prepared in accordance with allergy and dietary requirements.
- Implementing rigorous processes to prevent cross-contamination, including clearly labelled, separate utensils and preparation areas.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic kitchen at all times, meeting all food hygiene and Health & Safety standards.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations including COSHH and food hygiene legislation.
- Maintaining accurate records related to food preparation, cleaning schedules, stock levels, and equipment maintenance.
- Managing stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a kitchen environment - essential.
- Previous experience within a nursery, school, or similar setting - essential.
- Strong knowledge of allergen management, dietary requirements, and nutrition for young children.
- Food hygiene qualification - Level 2 minimum, Level 3 preferred.
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and reliable.
- A genuine understanding of the importance of safe food preparation in an early years environment.
