As Head of Nursing, you will support the Home Manager with clinical leadership across the service, helping to maintain safe, consistent, and person-centred nursing care. Some supernumerary time is included to allow space for leadership, oversight, and assessments. The home has been thoughtfully designed to support people living with dementia, with specialist features that help residents navigate and feel comfortable in their environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in the overall clinical management of the home.
  • Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care and safeguarding.
  • Complete initial assessments for prospective residents.
  • Support residents and families throughout the admission process.
  • Develop, review, and oversee individual care plans.
  • Administer medication and ensure safe medicines management.
  • Act as a positive role model, offering guidance and support to staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current NMC registration and nursing qualification.
  • At least two years' experience in a nursing home setting.
  • Previous leadership or management experience (Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, Head of Nursing, or similar).
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to promoting and maintaining high standards of care.
  • Experience working within dementia care.
  • Involvement in audits, assessments, or clinical governance.
  • Position not suitable for newly qualified nurses.

Salary & Hours

  • Pay: £25.50 per hour.
  • Hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Shifts: Day shifts only.
  • Weekend working: Alternate weekends.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Setting: Nursing home, including dementia care.
