Our client is a Good Ofsted-rated nursery that has been thoughtfully designed with every age group in mind. Bright, large rooms dedicated to each stage of childhood, each with their own garden featuring vegetable patches, mud kitchens, and dedicated learning areas — this is a setting where the environment has been carefully considered to give children the richest possible early years experience. They are now looking for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager, help lead the team, and play a central role in bringing that vision to life every day.

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above – essential
  • Experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager or Third in Charge – Essential
  • A solid understanding of EYFS and a genuine passion for developing children’s skills and confidence

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day leadership and operational running of the nursery
  • Acting as a visible, hands‑on leader across the rooms, supporting staff and leading by example
  • Overseeing EYFS delivery, ensuring activities and routines develop children’s skills, confidence and independence
  • Making full use of the dedicated room gardens — including vegetable patches, mud kitchens, and outdoor learning areas
  • Supporting staff development, mentoring, and day‑to‑day team management
  • Building warm, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Contributing to the nursery's continued Good Ofsted standard and quality improvement
  • Deputising for the Nursery Manager when required, maintaining strong leadership and continuity
