We are a well-established, family-run garden centre with a strong reputation for quality plants, fresh flowers, gardening products, and excellent customer service. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Full-Time Retail Sales & Maintenance Assistant to join our team.

The Role

As a Retail Sales & Maintenance Assistant you will be responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the garden centre. This is a varied and hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing professional, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service
  • Assisting customers with plant and product enquiries
  • Maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and stock presentation
  • Plant care, including watering and general garden centre maintenance
  • Receiving and processing deliveries
  • Operating EPOS/till systems and handling transactions accurately
  • Supporting seasonal displays and promotional activities
  • Ensuring the garden centre remains clean, safe, and well organised

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous retail experience (preferred)
  • Interest in horticulture or gardening (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and peak seasonal periods
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving stock where required
