The Role
This is a key position within the operations team, responsible for ensuring production runs efficiently, meets customer demand, and maximises site performance. You’ll act as the central link between commercial, production, procurement, engineering and logistics, balancing demand with capacity to ensure smooth delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on orders, forecasts and stock requirements
- Optimise machine capacity, labour and material availability
- Sequence production to minimise downtime, changeovers and waste
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans in response to breakdowns or changing priorities
- Work closely with procurement to ensure materials are available on time
- Collaborate with commercial teams to manage customer expectations and delivery timelines
- Track and report on KPIs such as OTIF, schedule adherence and capacity utilisation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and operations
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Production Planner or Scheduling role within manufacturing
- Strong understanding of planning systems (ERP/MRP)
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally
- Proficient in Excel and planning tools
Experience within technical or industrial manufacturing would be advantageous.
