Job Description: Location: Aberdeen, Scotland Salary: £51,876 basic | Potential annual earnings of circa £56,600 including scheduled overtime and attendance bonus Hourly Rate: £25.58 Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, 3:30pm on Friday Job Type: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity I'm representing an established manufacturing business based in Aberdeen that is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer looking for predominantly Monday–Friday daytime working hours, an attractive hourly rate and the opportunity to increase annual earnings through enhanced overtime. You'll be working with a varied range of industrial equipment, including pumps, motors, drives, instrumentation, control systems, steam systems and rotating machinery. Remuneration Basic salary of £51,876 per annum, with Hourly rate of £25.58, £800 annual attendance bonus. Inclusive of 1 in 2 saturday's, actual earnings would be £56,600. Saturday mornings: 8:00am–12:00pm, approximately 1 in 2, paid at time and a half (£38.37 per hour) with Saturday afternoon and Sunday overtime paid at double time (£51.16 per hour), where required Working Hours * Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday: 8:00am–3:30pm, 39-hour contracted working week * Saturday mornings: 8:00am–12:00pm, approximately 1 in 2, paid at time and a half (£38.37 per hour) with Saturday afternoon and Sunday overtime paid at double time (£51.16 per hour), where required * Occasional out-of-hours breakdown cover, with additional call-out pay and mileage reimbursement Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing and process equipment * Diagnose and rectify electrical faults across production machinery and associated systems * Carry out electrical fault finding within control panels and industrial equipment * Work with PLCs, SCADA systems, variable speed drives and process instrumentation * Maintain and fault-find electrical motors, pumps, sensors and control systems * Carry out electrical installations, wiring and commissioning of new equipment * Support the maintenance and improvement of existing plant and engineering systems * Perform routine panel inspections, instrumentation checks and calibrations * Assist with maintenance and safety checks on boiler and steam systems * Respond effectively to breakdowns, minimising disruption to production * Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and efficiency * Ensure all engineering activities are completed in accordance with Health & Safety and site standards What We're Looking For * Time-served Electrical Engineer or electrically biased Maintenance Engineer or Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering * Previous electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or process environment * Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities * Experience working with control panels, motors, drives and industrial electrical systems * An understanding of PLCs, SCADA and process control systems would be advantageous * Experience with instrumentation, including pressure, level and flow measurement, would be beneficial * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small Engineering Team * Willingness to participate in alternate Saturday morning working and occasional out-of-hours call-outs What's on Offer? * £51,876 basic annual salary, Potential annual remuneration of circa £56,600 including scheduled Saturday overtime and attendance bonus * Predominantly Monday–Friday daytime hours * Enhanced overtime rates of time and a half and double time * £800 annual attendance bonus * Opportunity to develop experience with automation, instrumentation and process control systems Apply This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a well-paid, predominantly day-based position with varied engineering responsibilities and strong overall earning potential.
