You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact. Vehicle Engineering is at the heart of engineering disciplines with Atlassian Williams F1 Team. A team of highly skilled and experienced designers work closely with all other engineering disciplines within the team such as Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, Manufacturing and Simulation to name a few, to deliver the car design in relentless pursuit of performance using leading edge manufacturing, design and materials technology.In this placement, you’ll take power unit integration components from initial concept through to a finished part fitted on the car. You’ll weigh up mass, stiffness and cost as you design, then work with test and production teams to prove your ideas hold up on track.Design and detail car components, balancing weight, strength and costSupport structural and functional calculations that back up your designsWork with aerodynamics, chassis, electronics and production teams, putting teamwork into practice as you fit power unit parts into the wider carDraw on resilience as you investigate faults and see each one through to a fixQualificationsWhat we are looking for: Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or a related engineering disciplineSome experience with CAD is useful, but full training is providedAdditional InformationLife at WilliamsBased at our Grove campus in Oxfordshire, enjoy competitive benefits, exclusive events, subsidised dining, special car schemes, and 24/7 gym access with fitness classes.
