Job DescriptionAt Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact. The Chassis, Bodywork and Wings Department plays a critical role in developing innovative solutions that deliver performance to our Formula 1 cars. Our team of skilled Design Engineers works tirelessly to deliver right 1st time, structurally optimal car parts, directly influencing our performance on the track.In this placement, you’ll help design composite parts for the Chassis, Bodywork and Wings team, working on drawings and laminates that meet exacting standards. You’ll also contribute to research and development, helping push composite design forward.Assist in delivering engineering designs, drawings and laminates to defined standards and proceduresSupport cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, prototype and test teamsTake the initiative on faults and manufacturing queries, putting teamwork into practice as you help improve processesContribute to research and development that drives innovation in composite design.QualificationsWhat we are looking for: Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or a related engineering disciplineSome understanding of composites materials and manufacturing processesCAD skills; experience with NX software is a plusAdditional InformationLife at WilliamsBased at our Grove campus in Oxfordshire, enjoy competitive benefits, exclusive events, subsidised dining, special car schemes, and 24/7 gym access with fitness classes.
