Overview
The Industrial Placement offers a 12-month immersion in Williams F1 Team’s vehicle engineering hub. You will contribute to shaping the future car by taking on real responsibilities and working within a high-performance cohort. The role focuses on powertrain systems and their integration, testing impact and feasibility in a closely collaborative environment. You gain hands-on experience across design, analysis, and cross-functional execution, with a clear path back to university.

Responsibilities
- Design and detail components across transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics and fuel systems, balancing weight, strength and cost
- Support structural and functional calculations to validate designs
- Collaborate with aerodynamics, chassis, electronics and production teams to integrate parts into the car
- Move designs from concept to fitted parts on the car and observe testing impact
- Investigate faults and drive them to a fix with resilience
Key requirements
- Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or related engineering
- Some experience with CAD is useful, but full training is provided
