Overview
In this Model Maker role within Williams F1’s Aerodynamics department, you will craft and test precision 60% scale parts that feed directly to the wind tunnel. You will work closely with Model Design, Aero, and Aero Test Facilities to keep development moving and ensure every part is traceable and race-ready. You’ll spot opportunities to speed up model changes without sacrificing quality, while upholding high safety and presentation standards in a showcase facility. This is a hands-on role in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment with a clear impact on on-track performance.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture and test precision 60% scale parts
- Collaborate with Model Design, Aero, and Aero Test Facilities teams
- Ensure traceability and race-ready pre-fit models
- Identify opportunities to reduce model change times while maintaining quality
- Raise issues and contribute to continuous improvement in Aero Production
- Maintain health & safety and uphold showroom standards for visitors
