We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our Enterprise Systems Team. As the Enterprise Architect for Enterprise Systems, you will develop and own Atlassian Williams Racingβs Enterprise Systems architecture strategy to align our core Technology and Innovation solutions with business objectives. Working across a core systems estate where we strive to adopt off-the-shelf technologies and avoid extensive customisation, and with diverse customers within Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Finance, you will support the Head of Enterprise Systems and peer internal IT leaders of the requisite platforms to define comprehensive business and system architectures, and plan technology capabilities that deliver valuable business outcomes.
Experience in a rapid prototype, design and build business environment is vital. Your understanding of an enterprise systems landscape that relies on seamless integration between Planning, PLM, ERP and MES will be essential for your, and our, success.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Technology Architecture Ownership & Leadership: Define architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices to allow an effective combination of speed, consistency and scalability. Collaborating internally with other IT groups to ensure end to end suitability.
- Own and maintain the Enterprise Systems Architecture body of knowledge including architecture documentation, capability framework, applications portfolio, maturity index and assessments.
- Develop and implement an enterprise architecture framework that aligns existing technology platforms and future plans with business goals, strategies and processes across a 1β5-year time frame.
- Lead and communicate across the Williams organisation about Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Systems, the framework, and the best practices for capability improvement β with business relevant and easy to understand language.
- Direct solution architects within Enterprise systems teams to define and build appropriate and valuable solutions that support the vision and strategy.
- Define and architect the hosting landscape across Enterprise Systems that best supports the requirements (public/private cloud, edge driven, locally hosted etc.)
Strategic Planning & Vision:
- Work closely with the Head of Enterprise Systems to build a long-term roadmap for systems maturity and business capability improvement with resource and order of magnitude budgets. Provide gap analysis to the target state.
- Support IT leaders within Enterprise Systems to create and maintain technology roadmaps that drive scalability, innovation, and digital transformation; support business leaders to find solutions to complex operating and organisational problems with our Enterprise Systems.
- Lead large-scale platform or vendor selection activities where change or new capabilities are deemed necessary, evaluating potential through to probable selections, aligning with Williams and Group strategies.
- Seek innovation from internal and external influences and direct platform/programme teams towards increased business value through connecting and leveraging our existing estate.
- Propose and endorse value through systems and capability rationalisation.
- Drive and support cost cap adherence strategy across Enterprise Systems.
Architectural Risk and Platform Governance:
- Identify and evaluate Enterprise Systems related risks and potential business impact: coordinate mitigation with peers within Enterprise Systems. Prioritise security to protect Intellectual Property, Cybersecurity Threats, Regulatory compliance, Data Integrity, and Quality.
- Build a criticality framework that helps to identify risk and areas where increased resilience is necessary.
- Consult with leaders across Williams TIG on architectural risk and interoperability.
- Participate in Enterprise Systems governance to ensure that principles are adhered to and appropriate decisions are taken.
Delivery Oversight and Continuous Improvement:
- Oversight of the execution of Enterprise Systems change ensuring that compliance is achieved.
- Translate lessons learned from delivery into insight and continuous improvement of strategies and enterprise architecture.
- Propose and establish improved platform operating models to support interoperability, maturity and best practice.
Skills and experience required:
- Previous proven experience delivering strategic IT architecture solutions record of delivery, not only with architectural frameworks and strategies but oversight of the translation to build and delivery to valuable returns.
- Strong experience in design led organisations with depth of understanding of Simulation, CAD, PLM, Integration, ERP, MES, OT and Financial technologies and how they should work together.
- Robust understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, system definition and process/capability mapping, integration, data architecture, application design, and emerging trends in Enterprise Architecture. Demonstrated ability to utilise this understanding whilst reducing jargon and communicating in business language.
- Ideally architecture qualified with CEAP, TOGAF, FEAF, or other relevant architecture/systems board; however, practicality of communications, templates/standards usage and strategy is key.
- Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong collaboration skills with peers and stakeholders.
- Ability to own an end-to-end vision, strategy, and governance approach.
- An analytical approach and confidence to ask questions.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Pragmatic and passion for solving difficult challenges to produce results.
