We are looking for an AI Engineer to join the team. You will play a critical role in a team dedicated to leveraging data and artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making, performance, and operational efficiency. This role contributes to the development and execution of the data and AI strategy, ensuring that all available data is transformed into actionable insights through advanced machine learning models and optimization algorithms.
You will collaborate on specific projects across various departments including Aero Development, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Performance, and Operations. In addition, you will develop, refine, and deploy cutting-edge AI models and pipelines across various applications, focussing on ensuring these technologies contribute to competitive advantage in areas such as race strategy, vehicle-dynamics, performance, operational decision-making and others.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that AI models, algorithms, and processes are deployed effectively across key areas such as vehicle development, race performance analysis, and decision-making support.
- Develop, refine, and deploy cutting-edge AI models and pipelines across various applications. Focus on ensuring these technologies contribute to competitive advantage in areas such as race strategy, vehicle-dynamics performance, and operational decision-making and others.
- Build and maintain data models to derive insights from available data for real-time and offline applications.
- Developing surrogate models and data fusion models from the data available.
- Apply AI for performance optimization across the business. This includes leveraging machine learning for real-time simulations, anomaly detection, and data-driven optimization of vehicle dynamics.
- Ensure that the AI team remains on the cutting edge by exploring emerging technologies.
- Ensure understanding of cost cap requirements and identify opportunities to improve optimisation.
Skills and experience required:
- Masters or PhD in Engineering or Science subject (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/machine learning models and optimization algorithms across multiple domains.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with multiple business and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to quickly grasp cutting-edge motorsport engineering concepts.
- Strong knowledge of AI and data technologies including Python (PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.) is a must – experience building high-performance python packages from Rust/C/C++ is beneficial.
- The ability to present complex data and AI insights in a concise, clear manner, making data understandable and actionable to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
