Location: Radstock Road, Midsomer Norton, BA3 2AA
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 6:00am–4:15pm
Starting Pay: £13.00 per hour, increasing to £13.50 per hour following successful completion of the 6-month probationary period

Williams & Oakey Engineering Co. Ltd are looking for a reliable and hardworking Shot Blaster / Metal Preparation Operator to join our finishing department. This is a hands‑on and physical role involving repetitive daily work, so applicants should be comfortable working in a busy industrial environment.
Main Duties
- Shot blasting metal components using an indoor cabinet blasting machine.
- Operating our larger walk‑in/container blasting facility while wearing the appropriate protective blasting equipment provided.
- Preparing metalwork ready for powder coating and other finishing processes.
- Sanding and general surface preparation.
- Alloy wheel preparation and refurbishment work.
- Loading and unloading dipping crates and components.
- Moving and handling parts throughout the department.
- Assisting with general factory and production duties when required.
- Helping other departments during busy periods.
- Keeping the blasting and preparation areas clean and organised.
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
Previous shot blasting, metal preparation or factory experience would be beneficial, although full training can be provided for the right person.
Applicants should be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Hardworking with a good work ethic.
- Comfortable undertaking repetitive and physical work.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to assist in different areas of the factory when required.
- Able to follow instructions and work safely.
- Willing to learn and develop within the role.
PPE and all required blasting equipment will be provided.
