The Primary Care division of Vital Healthcare has revenues of c.£150m in the German, Swiss and British markets enabled through its own commercial teams. High quality medical and diagnostic products are supplied for use in primary care, laboratory, and blue light settings. The division employs approximately 425 people in 3 countries.

Primary Care UK – consists of Williams Medical (https://www.wms.co.uk/) with revenues of c.£60M and SP Services (https://www.spservices.co.uk/) with revenues of c.£10M both specialise in providing a wide range of medical, healthcare products and equipment to healthcare professionals and organisations. Primary Care UK employs approximately 200 people across two purpose-built facilities, one in Telford, West Midlands England and one in Rhymney, South Wales.

About The Role:

This is primarily an office-based internal sales role, focused on outbound account management, pipeline development and commercial growth within Non-GP healthcare environments (e.g., private clinics, specialist practices, community services and other surgery-based providers). There is scope for customer visits where commercially appropriate, particularly to support larger opportunities, onboarding, or strategic relationship development.

The role will be responsible for both:

  • Growing revenue within existing accounts
  • Identifying and converting new business in near-adjacent healthcare markets

Key Objectives

  • Deliver profitable sales growth within the Non-GP Surgery segment
  • Expand Williams Medical’s presence beyond traditional GP primary care accounts
  • Increase product penetration across existing customers
  • Develop and convert new business opportunities within targeted adjacent healthcare markets
  • Build a sustainable and qualified opportunity pipeline

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement territory and account plans aligned to company growth strategy
  • Proactively manage and grow a defined portfolio of Non-GP Surgery accounts
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across the Williams Medical product range
  • Generate new business through structured outbound calling, lead generation, referrals and research
  • Qualify and convert new prospects into active trading accounts
  • Respond promptly to inbound enquiries from Marketing and Customer Support teams
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including pipeline, forecasts and customer activity
  • Gather and share market intelligence and customer feedback to inform commercial strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Services, Marketing, Category and Operations teams
  • Conduct customer visits where required to support strategic opportunities

  • Experience managing accounts and developing long-term customer relationships
  • Confident in consultative selling and identifying customer needs
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
  • Experience building and managing a sales pipeline
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (telephone and face-to-face)
  • Full UK driving license required for customer visits where applicable - Necessary
