Proofreader
Salary: Β£26,500 per annum plus 30% shift allowance (Β£34,450 total), plus company benefits
Location: Leeds, LS10 1A1
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Shifts: 40 hours per week, working either:
Sunday-Thursday, 23:00-08:00 with 1 hour lunch unpaid
Monday-Friday, 23:00-08:00 with 1 hour lunch unpaid

Purpose of role
The primary function of this role is to identify and correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage errors in complex legal documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage errors in complex legal documents.
- Detect formatting and compositional errors in documents.
- Check corrected proofs of legal documents against mark-up for comparison and quality assurance.
- Assist the Document Services team with document production and preparation as needed.
- Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information with discretion.
- Communicate with the manager and client regarding any job or deadline issues.
- Adhere to company policies as well as client site policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Personal attributes
- Experience proofreading, preferably in a legal, banking, or large corporate environment, is desirable.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired.
- Familiarity with legal timekeeping or job tracking systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills.
