Presentation Designer

Salary: £30,247 per annum, plus company benefits

Candidates must live within a 1-hour commute from this location.

Contract: Permanent, full time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Monday–Friday, with some weekend flexibility; preferred hours are 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm, but alternatives may be considered for the right candidate

Work model: Hybrid after successful completion of probation

Purpose of the Role

Williams Lea is looking for a skilled Presentation Designer to join a fast-paced, on-demand design studio within the banking sector. The ideal candidate will have at least three years\’ experience in presentations design and document formatting within the financial industry.

This role involves regular interaction with clients and close collaboration with colleagues to foster creativity and innovation within the team. Operating in a highly compliant and professional environment, the candidate will deliver seamless, on-brand creative material that exceeds client expectations.

Working closely with banking teams across the globe, the successful candidate will provide creative design solutions while demonstrating an excellent eye for detail and a strong understanding of brand purpose, consistency, and adherence across all communication materials.

We are seeking someone who can communicate effectively and professionally with clients, manage tasks independently, and collaborate with the wider design team to develop fresh, innovative ideas for PowerPoint pitchbooks, presentations, and slides.

Key responsibilities include creating high-quality design and artwork, with proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud. Deliverables will span presentation template design, event collateral, internal communications, training materials and digital assets. Strong experience with Windows systems is essential.

  • Able to think creatively, providing fresh ideas that are appropriate for the brand and audience
  • Capable of applying excellent illustrative skills, including the creation of diagrams, infographics, maps, charts, and graphs
  • Able to create designs in a timely manner, from creative concepts through to final artwork delivery, working to both digital and print specifications
  • Capable of converting and formatting supplied financial content including graphics, charts, tables, and multimedia elements as needed
  • Confident and articulate in presenting ideas and concepts to clients
  • Able to apply sharp attention to detail, providing quality control of own work

  • Competent and punctual in completing Excel job timesheets daily, providing an accurate reflection of time spent on all projects
  • Confident in liaising with external suppliers of services to ensure that work meets exact requirements as specified
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and deadlines
  • Act as a liaison between the creative team and other teams/departments to ensure effective collaboration and smooth workflow
  • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, legal requirements, and industry standards
  • Able to interpret and implement client edits across working documents and collateral
  • Brand implementation (understanding the brand strategy and applying it to all areas of the work that comes into the department)
  • Technical support and problem solving
  • Capable of providing regular updates to the workflow coordinator at every project stage, along with accurate and thorough handovers when required
  • Responsibility for own work, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality
  • Able to guide and advise other members of the team in the design and use of template material, providing help with training where necessary
  • Competent in pre-empting technical issues and coordinating with external print and digital suppliers where necessary
  • 3+ years of professional design and document production experience
  • Ability to create and develop compelling concepts and offer innovative solutions
  • Good brand awareness and sensitivity, working intuitively with or without brand guidelines
  • Creative flair and confidence in presenting and articulating ideas to clients

  • Proactive with self-development, utilising online training materials and resources
  • Ability to work well within a team, and to be helpful and supportive of the development of others
  • Strong skills in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat, while working on PC Windows systems

  • Experienced in pre-press, including checking files before sending to printers, working with complex cutter guides, templates, measurements, and colour setup
  • Calm and mature personality, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment, often under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong creative and technical knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive approach to checking and ensuring the quality of work
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Client-focused approach, with personal commitment to the client and their business, building effective client relationships based on trust, flexibility, and professionalism
  • Good people skills, keeping clients informed of progress and processes involved
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work within time constraints
  • Ability to take constructive feedback from both clients and senior colleagues to help develop understanding of the client’s brand
  • Good interpersonal skills must be able to communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues and clients at all levels
