The predicted salary is between 28000 - 36000 £ per year.

Salary: £32,000 per annum, plus company benefits

Location: 18 Central Avenue, St Andrews Business Park, Norwich NR7 OHR

Contract: Permanent, full time

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch

Work model: Hybrid; 3 days in office, 2 from home

Williams Lea and TSO seek a Content Development Manager to join our team!

Purpose of the Role

The Content Development Manager is responsible for leading content and product development through the lifecycle, from inception to launch and beyond, including:

  • Identifying and researching opportunities
  • Commissioning, managing and negotiating with content creators
  • Managing quality assurance
  • Overseeing production and technology development activities
  • Managing and continually seeking to improve a product post-launch based on meaningful metrics

Key Responsibilities

Client
  • Develop and maintain collaborative client relationships - including gaining approval for content and product development (at the start of, and during, a project)
  • Present new ideas and opportunities to the client
  • Attend industry and client events
  • Champion the end user, and challenge assumptions
  • Create, maintain and deliver against project plans to meet business and client demands
  • Input into management information, presentations, and reports
Finance
  • Create business cases for new projects; provide financial analysis and forecasting
  • Set and manage project budgets
  • Negotiate contracts and fees for authors and content creators; record and report payment information
People
  • Support the content development team, sharing knowledge across portfolios and identifying cross-client solutions and opportunities
  • Work with account management to ensure excellent client satisfaction
  • Work with the service delivery team to coordinate production activities and ensure adherence to project plans
  • Work with the project management and technology teams to coordinate technology development activities (including UAT)
  • Work with the marketing team on market research, user experience testing and marketing plans
  • Work with the sales team to identify and optimise sales channels for new products
  • Identify and develop relationships with authors, content creators, SMEs and industry bodies
Operations
  • Follow the content development process, completing the required documentation and ensuring sound governance of all projects
  • Optimise content for output, including following content design and instructional design best practice
  • Use effective project management techniques to deliver content and products on time, on budget and to the required quality
  • Identify and source suitable authors, content contributors and reviewers
  • Manage the quality assurance of all content, working with user panels, quality assurance reviewers, and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide constructive feedback to content creators; work collaboratively with them to scope, shape and deliver their work
  • Quality check work produced for accuracy, style, brand compliance, suitability and adherence to scope
  • Identify most appropriate content outputs based on user needs and format innovations, including managing transition of content to different platforms if required
  • Develop knowledge of relevant industry sectors to better understand user needs, and identify new content and product development opportunities
  • Monitor performance of new products based on meaningful metrics (financial, user-based) and drive continual improvement activities

Experience and Qualifications
  • Relevant publishing experience, preferably within a similar role and environment
  • Experience delivering projects to tight timescales
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Keen understanding of content development, content management, multimedia publishing, eLearning and instructional design, and the opportunities of digital outputs
