At Williams Haulage, we’re looking for experienced HGV Class 1 drivers to join our friendly team on a flexible relief basis, providing cover for annual leave, absences and peak operational demand.

With regular shifts available across day and night work, this is an ideal opportunity for professional drivers seeking flexibility alongside consistent work.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Relief Driver, you’ll start shifts from either our Corwen or Deeside depot (depending on your preferences), supporting our transport operation by delivering goods nationwide. Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, you will:

  • Operate Class 1 articulated and rigid flatbed or curtain-sided vehicles for nationwide deliveries
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance
  • Load and secure cargo safely and correctly
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with planners and customers
  • Uphold high driving standards and maintain vehicle cleanliness at all times

About You

We’re looking for professional, reliable drivers who have:

  • A valid HGV Class 1 licence
  • Driver CPC, and digital tachograph card
  • At least 12 months of HGV driving experience
  • A solid understanding of UK road transport regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
  • Ability to handle physical aspects of the role safely

Although not essential, ADR certification is preferable.
