Earnings and progression

We offer a competitive salary of £29,000, with an additional £3,000 available through performance‑related bonus, giving on‑target earnings of £32,000.

Working pattern

This is a full‑time role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm, with Saturday mornings on a 1‑in‑4 rota (8.30am–12.30pm).

About the MOT Tester role

As an MOT Tester, you’ll be responsible for carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations, ensuring all vehicles meet legal and safety standards. You’ll work closely with the workshop team to maintain efficiency while upholding the highest levels of accuracy and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for a detail‑focused professional who values precision, compliance and delivering excellent service.

What you’ll be doing as an MOT Tester

  • Carrying out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations
  • Completing work within times set by the Workshop Controller
  • Accurately recording work using the company’s time recording systems
  • Identifying and reporting any additional work required on vehicles
  • Using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing equipment
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
  • Supporting the workshop team to deliver efficient and high‑quality service

What we’re looking for

  • A full, valid UK driving licence
  • A valid DVSA MOT Tester licence
  • Previous experience as an MOT Tester in a busy workshop
  • Strong attention to detail and knowledge of MOT testing standards
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • A professional, safety‑focused and customer‑oriented approach
