We are looking for an Indirect Procurement Business Partner/Buyer to provide commercial and category expertise to the business, facilitating best value procurement to time, cost and quality imperatives. Effectively consult and influence both internal and external stakeholders, supporting the development and execution of sourcing strategies, and managing supplier relationships to optimise performance. Working as part of the Indirect Procurement team, you will promote and implement high professional standards in line with the standing of the business. You will foster positive working relationships both within the team and across functional boundaries, using strong EQ to navigate multiple tasks, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance within a matrixed environment.

Main Duties

  • Category Management: Oversee the procurement process across Indirect Procurement, including, but not limited to R&D, Facilities and Wind Tunnel.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings, mitigate risk and improve supplier performance.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality and performance standards.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring favourable terms and ongoing value for the organisation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure procurement activities align with business goals. Promote the value of the Procurement function to the wider business to drive realisation of commercial opportunities via greater engagement.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance transparency, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse procurement data to identify trends, quantify savings, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision making.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MCIPS desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in Indirect Procurement or Indirect Buying is required, with desirable experience across Facilities, Manufacturing, or R&D categories.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, written and verbal communication skills essential. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Indirect procurement, including market trends, cost drivers, and best practices.
