We are looking for a Product Owner to join the team to lead the technical development, optimisation, and administration of various platforms within the Atlassian Williams Racing Vehicle Performance and Dynamics department. They will take responsibility for being the link between the Vehicle Performance and Dynamics department and the Technology and Innovation Group (TIG). The Product Owner will partner with key stakeholders to understand the challenges implicit in the efficient operation of these functions and then collaborate effectively with the relevant TIG stakeholders so that the technology groups can design and implement effective solutions to these challenges.
Additionally, the Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring that the current state of play for all technology development for which they are accountable is visible to the business.
Main responsibilities
- Build and maintain a defined map of both how the Vehicle Performance and Dynamics department works now, and how they want to work in the future
- Capture capability gaps from key business stakeholders and transform these into product definitions which can be sized, prioritized and actioned by our technology teams
- Maintain strong communication both within TIG and to the wider business of the progress being made, the current state of prioritization, and when we are hoping that items will be delivered
- Act as a voice of the business in internal TIG discussions to ensure technology development is aligned with the requirements of manufacturing and operations
- Lead on feature releases and all associated communication and feedback processes
- Collaborate across the product ownership team to ensure that cross functional requirements are identified and delivered as efficiently as possible
- Provide a point of contact for stakeholders relating to Product issues, optimisation ideas or new requirements
Skills and experience required
- Proven previous experience with owning products in a complex multidisciplinary environment
- Experience in a business analysis role including requirement-gathering
- Demonstrable project management skills
- Understanding of a modern software development environment, including Kubernetes, private and public cloud technologies and modern data strategies
- Understanding of a modern F1 team’s vehicle performance and dynamics technology needs
- Ability to work autonomously within a broader strategic framework
- Ability to troubleshoot and understand technical issues beyond their immediate area of expertise by taking a methodical approach and use of wider resources, tools and networks
- Good understanding of the end-to-end Manufacturing processes
- Experience in different methods of testing and quality assurance approaches
- Good understanding of the broader IT landscape
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
Desirable
- Formal product ownerships qualifications, for example CSPO
- Experience with agile methods
