Since its foundation in 1977 by the eminent, late Sir Frank Williams and engineering pioneer Sir Patrick Head, the team has won nine Constructors’ Championships, in association with Cosworth, Honda and Renault. Work as part of a team of Aerodynamicists to improve the aerodynamic performance of the car.
Main Duties:
- Technical input and development for an area of the F1 aero package
- Assist in the preparation and planning for wind tunnel test sessions.
- Analysis of CFD and experimental results.
- Provide guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team.
- Best use of WT/CFD personnel and tools to achieve aerodynamic performance targets.
- Awareness and understanding of the aero package within the group’s area of responsibility with a proactive attitude towards both continual improvements and technical innovations.
- Thorough analysis and reporting of CFD/WT results to establish robust aerodynamic solutions.
- Planning for / running of accurate and efficient WT tests.
- Maintain positive relationships and clear communication of information throughout the department and across the team.
- Assist Aerodynamic Project Leader and Manager in technical and managerial aspects when required.
