We are seeking a highly skilled Composite Trimmer/Fitter. In this role, you will be responsible for the trimming, fitting, and bonding of carbon fibre components to tight deadlines and following procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Trimming composite material using specialized hand and power tools, following dimensions and tolerances from an engineering drawing.
- Fitting of composite components for bonded assemblies.
- Bonding and assembling of composite components following company procedures.
- Perform composite repairs, such as filling voids or repairing damage, using appropriate composite repair techniques.
- Perform self-inspections of finished parts to guarantee conformance to stringent engineering drawings and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with other departments across the team to optimize workflow, meet production targets, and continuously improve component quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to strict 5S principles.
- Adhere to data capturing processes to ensure the team is compliant with regulations.
- Experience in composite trimming, fitting, and assembling within a fast-paced high-performance manufacturing environment, preferably in motorsport or aerospace.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools for composite trimming, including pneumatic and electric grinders, routers, and sanders.
- In-depth knowledge of composites, their properties, and the impact of different finishing techniques on component performance.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications with precision and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards and following company processes.
- High level of attention to detail and finesse.
Please note this role will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
The Williams Group is based in a multi-acre complex located in Grove, Oxfordshire.
