Second Chef – Full Time Permanent role in our Restaurant at Mayfield Garden Centre. Competitive rate of pay: £13.10 per hour. The hours are 45 hours over 5 days with weekend work required. There is no evening work and no split shifts. Our centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day to allow time with family.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the operation of all areas of food production and cleaning in the kitchen.
- Work as part of a small team under the guidance of the Head Chef.
- Prepare fresh ingredients for the full menu range.
- Prepare hot and cold food orders to order.
- Monitor stock levels and contribute toward the ordering process.
- Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste.
- Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
- Close down the kitchen each day, including preparation for the following day.
