An exciting and fast growing biotech requires an exceptional and talented
fractional CFO
. This new role will report to the CEO and work closely with the senior executive team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, management and running of the company\’s finance activities, including accounting, business planning, tax, budgeting, forecasting, Company secretarial duties, plus leading the finance team. This role will also have the responsibility for all HR, Legal complexities and IT Systems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Management and running of the company\’s finance activities, including accounting, financial planning, tax, budgeting, forecasting.
- Strategic business partner for CEO, Founders and Senior Executive team.
- Key member of the senior leadership team offering direct support to the CEO.
- Operating as a trusted business partner to the senior executive team, Board and Investors.
- Support CEO in communicating with investors & presentation work related to investor relations.
- Financial & commercial analysis supporting all parts of the business.
- Tax planning and working with tax advisers in claiming R&D tax credits etc.
- Assess, evaluate and offer strategic direction to the business model.
- Ensure full corporate governance at all times, building up risk control capabilities around operational activities and contract assessments.
- Identification and mitigation of risks, compliance, and adherence to regulations.
- Review and approve all legal agreements.
- Support the CEO with shareholder and external fund-raising activities.
- Responsibility for the Company\’s benefits systems including share option scheme, pension scheme and any others that may come on stream.
- Responsibility for all HR, Legal complexities and IT Systems.
Profile Background
- Successful fundraising experience
- A highly experienced CFO with a renowned reputation.
- Exposure to VC or fast growing, biotechnology businesses.
- Supporting and advising the senior management team on commercial activities.
- Communicating with investors and presentation work related to investor relations.
Qualification/Experience:
- Experience of working within the biotechnology sector.
- You must be hands on, with a team-oriented approach, able to establish rapport and effective relationships at all levels.
- Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, can – do environment.
- You will have excellent communication skills and be able to summarize in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.
You will have a motivated attitude with an enthusiasm and desire to work in a fast growing environment. You will be adaptable, agile and curious, with the ability to assist the CEO in a wide variety of areas.
