50 Best is seeking a creative and skilled journalist with excellent writing and editing skills to join its growing in-house editorial and production team as Content Creator, curating compelling stories and visuals that celebrate the world’s best restaurants, bars, hotels, and destinations.
The Content Creator will have excellent organisational and communication skills, along with a passion for food, drink and travel, with knowledge of the hospitality industry to fulfil key objectives which include writing and editing articles about some of the best food, drink and travel around the world, developing sponsored content campaigns and building newsletters, all while working with a passionate team that thrives on innovation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Pitching, writing and editing online features about the world’s best restaurants, bars and hotels
- Fact-checking, writing and editing venue profiles featured on 50 Best Discovery – the brand’s database of world-class bars, restaurants and hotels, all voted for by 50 Best’s expert panels
- Managing communication and asset collection with venues hosted on 50 Best Discovery
- Pitching ideas for and assisting in the production of editorial and sponsored content campaigns
- Supporting on the wider digital content strategy, while using knowledge of SEO best practices to optimise digital reach
- Providing insight and analysis for newsletters, social media and on-site performance reports
- Providing ad hoc support to the Senior Digital Editor, Digital Development Director and wider content team
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Qualification in journalism or a degree-level education in English, communications or a relevant field (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a journalist or writer position, with fact-checking and editing responsibilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive approach to engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Strong research skills and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using CMS platforms and creating digital content for websites
- A positive self-starter with a strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration and generating innovative ideas
- A genuine passion for food, drinks and travel
- Language skills are an advantage but not essential
- Industry knowledge or experience in hospitality, travel or lifestyle media is a plus
