Senior account manager

Love food and drink? Have a passion for PR & marketing? Then look no further. We’ve got just the job for you…

Due to new contract wins, we’re looking for a bright, passionate senior account manager level marketing consultant to join our friendly team.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for delivering and managing a number of high-profile B2B and B2C campaigns across a range of food, drink and supplier brands. This is a hands-on role working across our growing client portfolio that includes some of the biggest names in the business: Kraft Heinz, Santa Maria, Premier Foods and Délifrance.

You will play an integral role in the development and delivery of campaigns and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of accounts. You will also be responsible for managing a delivery team, budgets and will be a key client contact. You must be able to pull together a presentation, have sharp attention to detail and run client meetings autonomously.

The ideal candidate

  • Expert, challenging, creative, sparky, bold and brave
  • PR and/or marketing agency experience at account manager level – 3+ years
  • Food and drink experience and contacts within the industry are a must
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against KPIs
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience in team management with the ability to prioritise projects and deliver campaigns across all media within agreed client service levels and budgets
  • Excellent communicator and writer

Experience & expertise

  • Strong agency background – ideally someone with solid agency-side experience who understands the fast pace and vibrancy of agency life.
  • Experience managing larger accounts - someone who has worked with bigger clients and understands the level of organisation, attention to detail and professionalism required.
  • Social media expertise – we are looking for someone who really understands social media, is confident across platforms (mainly LinkedIn and Instagram), keeps up with trends and genuinely enjoys working in this space.
  • Interest in food and drink – experience in the foodservice sector would be beneficial but isn’t essential. A genuine interest in food and drink, and a willingness to learn the market, is more important.

Personal attributes & approach

  • Exceptionally reliable and dependable – someone we can trust to deliver, follow through on commitments and take responsibility without needing to be chased.
  • Highly organised and detail oriented – someone who is naturally on top of things, considered in their approach and takes pride in getting the details right.
  • Proactive and self-sufficient – able to take initiative, think ahead and to identify what needs doing independently.
  • Experienced and confident – professional maturity and experience to make sound decisions, manage situations independently and bring reassurance to the team.
  • Thoughtful and considered – someone who thinks before acting, exercises good judgement and approaches challenges calmly and constructively.
  • Honest and open – transparent in their communication, comfortable raising concerns and willing to have straightforward conversations.
  • Positive personality and strong team fit – approachable, personable, collaborative and someone who will get on well with the existing team.
  • A genuine team player – happy to support others, share knowledge and contribute positively to the wider team rather than just focusing on their own accounts.

Location & Working Arrangements

  • Brighton-based or easily commutable – ideally someone living in or around Brighton/Hove, or within a realistic commuting distance of the area.
  • Comfortable with hybrid working – someone who genuinely values spending time in the office, enjoys collaborating in person and will be a consistent presence within the team.

Level of Seniority

Established, mid-level professional – ideally someone with several years of relevant experience who is settled in their career, confident in their abilities and ready to take ownership.

What we’ll offer you

First, there’s a competitive salary - £28,000 to £38,000. Plus, a discretionary bonus scheme.

While we work hard for our clients, we also recognise the importance of work-life balance.

Benefits include:

  • Regular, funded foodie nights out and team lunches
  • Free access to Hospitality Action’s Employee Assistance Programme – run by the industry charity with specific support for mental wellbeing. It's completely confidential and gives the team access to free personal counselling, managerial advice and a portal full of wellness advice and coaching
  • Flexible working: We work flexibly with all our employees (who rate our flexible working as 'very good'/'excellent'). We start between 6am and 10am - and finish from 3pm-6:30pm.
  • Mentoring from a board member and a personal development plan
  • Training time – half a day a month built into your working week so you can master new skills, immerse yourself in an industry event or take time to add another string to your bow

How we work

We have a mix of home working and regular office attendance in Hove, with the latter being one day per working week. In addition, our bi-monthly team meetings are in London or Brighton as required by the company, where the company covers the cost.
