A leading national law firm, highly regarded for its work in defendant insurance litigation, is seeking to recruit a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its Property Damage Recoveries team. This is an excellent opportunity to handle a diverse caseload of Household and Commercial Property recovery claims for a range of well-known insurer clients.
In this role, you will gain exposure to high-value and complex matters, taking responsibility for your own caseload while receiving support and supervision from experienced colleagues. Alongside technical legal work, the role offers client-facing opportunities, including contributing to client training and development initiatives. The team regularly delivers seminars and workshops, and you will have the chance to assist in preparing and presenting on technical legal issues.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Drafting
- Legal research
- Reviewing evidence
- Instructing counsel and experts
- Preparing for trial
- Settlement negotiations
- Supporting alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation
You will also have the opportunity to develop advocacy skills by attending hearings.
The Candidate
- NQ Solicitor with a training seat or prior experience in insurance litigation or Property Litigation
- Strong technical skills with the ability to draft clearly and concisely
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy caseload
- Willingness to engage in business development and client training activities
- Confidence in liaising with insurer and lay clients
- Familiarity with case management systems would be advantageous
