A well‑established national law firm is seeking a Construction Property Damage Solicitor to join its specialist Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regarded Construction Property Damage and Recoveries department, acting for major insurer clients on a wide range of construction‑related property claims.

As a Construction Property Damage Solicitor in the Manchester team, you’ll manage a varied and technically challenging caseload, including defect claims, site damage, contractor disputes and perils such as fire, flood, impact and escape of water. You’ll take ownership of matters from instruction through to resolution, providing clear, commercial advice and supporting client objectives throughout.

  • Managing a caseload of construction‑related property damage and recovery claims
  • Handling matters arising from defects, site damage, contractor disputes and associated perils
  • Running claims typically valued between £10,000 and £100,000+
  • Reviewing site reports, contracts and technical evidence to establish recovery positions
  • Drafting pleadings, correspondence and legal documentation
  • Conducting detailed investigations into liability, causation and quantum
  • Engaging in settlement negotiations and ADR processes
  • Supporting client training, mentoring and knowledge‑sharing initiatives

The Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with relevant technical expertise
  • 1-4 years’ experience in construction, property damage or recovery litigation
  • Experience managing a caseload of construction or property damage claims
  • Strong working knowledge of construction recoveries and contractor liability
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to handle technically complex matters
  • Confident drafting and communication skills
  • Client‑focused with strong interpersonal skills
  • Organised, proactive and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Enthusiasm for negotiation, advocacy and construction‑related disputes
