You will work with a high-calibre client base including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, public sector bodies and international organisations, advising on complex commercial, digital and technology matters at the forefront of innovation.

This Commercial Solicitor role in Newcastle offers exposure to high-profile, multi-jurisdictional projects, with strong progression, high-quality work and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in digital, technology and strategic commercial matters. The Role:

  • Advise on complex commercial contracts supporting day-to-day operations and major strategic projects
  • Work on technology transactions, digital transformation programmes and IT outsourcing
  • Draft and negotiate software licensing, IT services and procurement agreements
  • Support clients on data protection, privacy, cyber security and emerging technologies including AI
  • Assist on large-scale projects across energy, transport, manufacturing and life sciences
  • Work with clients on supply chain management, product development and routes to market
  • Collaborate with international teams on cross-border matters and transactions
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship management initiatives

The Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 3–5 years PQE in commercial, technology or digital law
  • Experience gained within a City, national or strong regional firm or in-house environment
  • Strong grounding in commercial contracts and/or digital, tech or data protection matters
  • Exposure to complex, high-value transactions and projects
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Commercially minded with the ability to advise clients in a clear and pragmatic way
  • Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Interest or experience in technology, digital transformation or international work
