An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Professional Indemnity Associate to join a nationally recognised, Tier 1 ranked law firm in Manchester. The firm is widely regarded for its expertise in defending insurers, brokers, and other insurance sector clients in complex, high-profile professional negligence matters.
In this role, you will manage your own caseload of professional indemnity claims while also supporting Partners on high-value, multi-party disputes. You will work across a variety of sectors, including legal, financial services, property, technology, media, and business consultancy, tackling challenging and novel areas of professional liability and insurance law. This includes issues such as scope of duty, breach, causation, quantum, and complex policy liability disputes.
You’ll work closely with insurer clients and policyholders, handling matters from initial investigation through to resolution. Responsibilities include pre-action strategy, drafting pleadings, disclosure, expert and QC instructions, mediation, arbitrations, adjudications, and litigation before the County Court, High Court, TCC, commercial courts, and consumer redress schemes including the Financial Ombudsman Service.
You will also manage reporting to insurer clients in line with exacting service standards, ensuring accurate reserving, clear case planning, and proactive strategy execution.
