Employment Partner (Head of Department) – Up to £100,000 + Benefits + Bonus
A highly regarded Legal 500 law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to lead its established Employment team as part of an exciting period of growth and succession planning.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior Employment lawyer to take a strategic leadership role within a successful and ambitious firm. The practice has built a strong reputation across the Thames Valley and surrounding regions, advising both businesses and individuals on a broad range of employment law matters while delivering exceptional client service.
The successful candidate will work closely with the firm's senior leadership team, overseeing and developing the Employment department while managing a varied and interesting caseload. This role offers a genuine opportunity to shape the future direction of the team, with a clear pathway to becoming a Shareholder within the firm.
The Role:
- Lead and develop an established Employment team, driving continued growth and success
- Advise employers and individuals on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Provide strategic employment law advice to SMEs, owner-managed businesses, corporate clients and senior executives
- Handle complex Employment Tribunal matters and workplace disputes
- Advise on TUPE, restructures, redundancies and workforce management issues
- Support corporate transactions with employment-related due diligence and corporate support work
- Draft and negotiate employment contracts, service agreements, policies and procedures
- Advise senior executives and directors on settlement agreements and exit strategies
- Build and strengthen client relationships across the firm's business and private client network
- Contribute to business development initiatives and help raise the profile of the department
- Mentor, supervise and support junior members of the Employment team
About You:
- Qualified Solicitor status with 8+ years' PQE in Employment Law
- Strong experience advising both employers and individuals on a broad range of employment matters
- Excellent technical knowledge across contentious and non-contentious Employment law
- Experience managing complex matters with minimal supervision
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A genuine interest in developing and growing a successful Employment practice
