This opportunity offers an experienced commercial solicitor the platform to develop their profile within the Bristol market as a genuinely market-facing hire, with the autonomy and support to generate and win new business. As a Commercial Solicitor / Partner, you will play a key role in driving the firm’s growth in Bristol, working closely with lead partners to support and deliver business development initiatives, build relationships, and develop new workstreams. For the right individual, there is a clear and supported pathway to partnership and long-term leadership within the commercial practice.

The Role

  • Advising on a broad range of commercial contracts, technology, data, and media matters
  • Supporting clients on B2B transactions, including SaaS, IoT, AI, machine learning, and fintech
  • Providing commercial advisory support to a diverse, quality client base across the South West
  • Handling complex and high-value commercial matters from instruction through to completion
  • Working closely with partners and colleagues within a collaborative, specialist team
  • Supporting lead partners with business development activity, including networking, client targeting, and pipeline generation
  • Playing a key role in strengthening the firm’s presence in the Bristol market
  • Contributing to the continued growth and strategic direction of the commercial practice

The Candidate

  • Experienced Commercial Solicitor or Partner with strong exposure to corporate / M&A matters
  • Proven or emerging track record in business development and supporting client growth
  • Commercial outlook with a genuine enthusiasm for networking and relationship building
  • Background within a reputable commercial, boutique, or national firm
  • Ambitious, driven, and motivated to contribute to the growth of an established offering
  • Interest or experience in video gaming / games media would be advantageous (not essential)
  • Desire to progress into partnership (if currently operating at Senior Associate or LD level)
