Technical Credit Hire Solicitor - Manchester - Hybrid - Up to £55,000
A leading national law firm is seeking a Credit Hire Technical Solicitor to join its specialist Credit Hire team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional to combine a hands-on caseload with a technical leadership role, supporting the development of fee earners and driving high standards of technical quality across the team.
As a Technical Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Technical Manager, Team Leaders and senior stakeholders to support technical performance, enhance quality and ensure the team consistently meets client expectations, SLAs and KPIs across its credit hire caseload.
Alongside managing a caseload of litigated credit hire matters, you’ll play a key role in coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues across the department, helping to embed best practice and strengthen technical capability.
The Role
- Managing a small caseload of litigated credit hire claims
- Supervising and mentoring fee earners to strengthen technical capability and support performance
- Supporting the Technical Manager in embedding best practice and maintaining the Recoveries Quality Framework
- Working closely with Team Leaders and senior stakeholders to ensure client SLAs, KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved
- Identifying technical training needs and delivering coaching, mentoring and onboarding support
- Supporting new starters through the competency framework, with the aim of achieving financial authority within six months
- Monitoring workflows and identifying technical risks, emerging trends and opportunities to improve quality and efficiency
The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer or equivalent with the appropriate practice rights
- Proven litigation experience, ideally within credit hire or motor recoveries, although other relevant claimant or defendant litigation experience will be considered
- Previous experience managing your own litigated caseload
- Strong understanding of credit hire litigation, including liability, recoverability, quantum and litigation strategy
- Experience supervising, mentoring or training colleagues
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to identify and drive improvements in technical quality
