This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading national law firm renowned for its expertise in insurance law. As part of the firm’s Property Damage team, you will focus primarily on policy coverage work, advising insurers on a wide range of first‑party and third‑party property claims. You will handle complex coverage disputes involving fires, floods, escapes of water, impacts, and product liability, providing clear and commercial advice on policy response, exclusions, and declinature. The role also offers exposure to subrogated recovery claims, giving a varied and engaging workload.
This client‑facing role involves managing files from instruction to resolution, drafting and reviewing coverage advice, instructing experts and counsel, and supporting settlement negotiations or litigation. It’s a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded lawyer to build a specialist career in policy coverage and property insurance within a highly regarded national firm.
The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with relevant technical capability
- 1–4 years’ defendant property litigation experience (claimant experience also considered)
- Proven experience managing a caseload of property damage recovery matters
- Working knowledge of household and commercial property recoveries
- Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Client‑focused approach with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
- Enthusiasm for advocacy, negotiation, and complex legal work
