We’re working with a highly respected, award‑winning regional law firm with a strong and expanding presence across the North West and wider regions. The firm advises a broad client base in the hospitality, leisure, retail, events, venues, and regulated entertainment sectors, offering specialist licensing expertise and a first‑class reputation for advocacy, hearings and complex regulatory matters.

Following significant investment and sustained growth in Manchester, the firm is seeking a Licensing Partner to lead and develop its city‑centre licensing offering.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to take ownership of a high‑profile practice area within a firm that is scaling rapidly and continues to attract top lateral hires across Manchester. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to build the licensing presence in the city, supported by a strong regional team with a proven track record across alcohol, entertainment, SEVs, summary reviews, compliance and regulatory matters.

The Candidate

  • Experienced Licensing Solicitor with a strong background in alcohol/entertainment licensing
  • Advocacy experience before Licensing Committees (and confidence running your own hearings)
  • A history of working with hospitality, leisure, venue operators, late‑night economy or regulated entertainment clients
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to develop long‑term client relationships
  • Experience from a reputable regional, boutique, or national firm
  • A portable following is welcome but not essential, capability and credibility are key
  • Ambitious, motivated and looking for a senior strategic role within a growing firm
