This is a standout opportunity to join a highly regarded national regulatory and professional discipline team, recognised for its strength in complex fitness to practice work. The firm acts for a wide range of professional regulators, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector, handling sensitive and high-profile investigations that sit at the intersection of public protection and professional standards.
Due to continued growth, the team is now seeking a Regulatory Solicitor to join its Manchester office, working on challenging, varied cases with clear responsibility and strong partner support. This role would suit a solicitor who enjoys investigative work, managing complex evidence, and running cases through to hearing.
The Role
- Managing a caseload of fitness to practice and professional discipline investigations
- Preparing case plans and advising on procedural and evidential issues
- Acting as the main point of contact for witnesses and key stakeholders
- Overseeing evidence gathering, disclosure and witness statements
- Instructing experts and liaising with internal and external advocates
- Drafting or reviewing allegations and preparing cases for hearing
- Attending hearings where legal or procedural issues arise
- Presenting cases before practice committees and interim orders panels
- Preparing reports and recommendations at the conclusion of cases
The Candidate
- Qualified solicitor with 2+ years PQE in regulatory, disciplinary or litigation work
- Experience of fitness to practice, healthcare regulation or professional discipline is highly desirable
- Strong case management and investigative skills
- Confident handling sensitive material and vulnerable witnesses
- Excellent drafting and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with counsel and managing complex evidence
- Organised, resilient and able to manage competing deadlines
