A Tier 2 Legal 500-ranked insurance litigation practice is seeking a Data & Information Governance Senior Associate Solicitor to join its Manchester office as part of its continued growth. The team advises a broad client base including SMEs, corporates, NHS Resolution, medical agencies and other organisations facing complex data breach and information governance issues. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong litigation background to join a market-leading team undertaking a unique blend of contentious, regulatory and advisory work. The role offers exposure to high-profile and often sensitive matters, alongside excellent opportunities for long-term career progression within a collaborative and growing practice.

  • Manage a varied caseload of data breach, information governance and cyber-related matters on behalf of insured and uninsured organisations.
  • Defend claims arising from data protection breaches, confidentiality breaches and information governance issues.
  • Advise clients on regulatory investigations, complaints and enforcement matters.
  • Provide strategic and commercially focused advice following cyber incidents and data security events.
  • Support clients with risk management, compliance and wider information governance obligations.
  • Handle matters through litigation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across insurance, regulatory and commercial litigation teams on complex and high-value matters.

Strong litigation background gained within a recognised disputes, insurance litigation, regulatory or commercial litigation practice. Experience handling data protection, information governance or cyber-related matters would be advantageous, although candidates with strong contentious experience will also be considered. Able to deliver commercially focused and pragmatic legal advice to a diverse client base.
