We are working on behalf of a highly regarded, Legal 500 and Chambers ranked law firm to recruit a Criminal Duty Solicitor for their expanding Crime team. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your career in a supportive and collaborative environment, handling a varied caseload and gaining exposure to advocacy and client representation.
You will be involved in:
- Managing a varied caseload of criminal defence matters for both private and publicly funded clients
- Attending court hearings and representing clients at police stations
- Conducting advocacy in Magistrates Court (training and support provided)
- Preparing clear, accurate legal advice and documentation
- Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties to progress cases efficiently
- Supporting senior lawyers and contributing to team objectives
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Solicitor with prior experience in criminal law
- Strong understanding of Criminal Law and court procedures
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
- IT proficiency and strong organisational skills
