The firm is recognised for handling high‑profile and sensitive matters across a range of regulated sectors, working with clients in both the private and public sphere. This is a senior opportunity to take ownership of complex files while also playing a key role in supporting the wider leadership team and contributing to the ongoing development of the department.
The Role
- Leading on a broad range of regulatory and compliance‑based matters, including coronial investigations, statutory inquiries and investigations by external regulatory bodies
- Advising clients across corporate, public sector and not‑for‑profit organisations on both contentious and advisory issues
- Managing complex and high‑profile matters from instruction through to conclusion
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, supporting their development and performance
- Supporting the operational running of the team and assisting senior leadership in day‑to‑day management
- Maintaining high standards of client service and ensuring matters are delivered efficiently and effectively
- Supporting business development activity and contributing to the growth of the practice
About You
- Experienced Senior Associate, Legal Director or equivalent with a background in regulatory or criminal defence work
- Strong track record of handling complex and sensitive matters
- Confident in supervising and developing junior lawyers
- Commercially aware with a proactive, client‑focused approach
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Able to manage competing priorities in a high‑pressure environment
