The Role Legal Costs Negotiator – Manchester / Birmingham – Hybrid – up to £40,000 A Tier 1 ranked Legal Costs team at a nationally recognised law firm, renowned for its long-standing client relationships, is seeking a Costs Negotiator to join its highly regarded Clinical Negligence team. The firm is known for handling complex, high-value matters while providing exceptional support, training, and clear career progression for its teams. As part of this established and busy Costs department, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth management of clinical negligence claims from a costs perspective. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of a caseload, develop and implement costs strategies, and negotiate outcomes that deliver real value to insurer clients. The role offers exposure to technically complex and high-profile matters, making it an ideal step for someone looking to deepen their expertise in costs within clinical negligence litigation. In this role, you will manage a caseload of costs matters from instruction through to settlement or assessment, taking responsibility for reviewing files, drafting Points of Dispute, and engaging in early settlement discussions. You’ll also advise internal teams and insurer clients throughout the lifecycle of each case, contributing directly to achieving efficient and cost-effective resolutions.
