A well-established national law firm with a strong reputation in complex regulatory and advisory matters is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Midland based team. The practice is recognised for its work on high-profile and sensitive instructions across a range of regulated sectors, acting for a mix of public sector bodies, corporates and not-for-profit organisations. This is a senior opportunity offering autonomy over complex matters, alongside involvement in the continued development and growth of the wider team.

The Role:

  • Leading on a varied caseload of regulatory and compliance matters, including public inquiries, inquests and investigations by external regulatory bodies
  • Advising clients across public sector, corporate and third sector organisations on both contentious and advisory issues
  • Managing complex, high-profile matters from instruction through to resolution
  • Assisting with the preparation and coordination of responses to formal inquiry requests and disclosure exercises
  • Supporting major inquest work and other significant investigative proceedings
  • Drafting corporate witness statements and taking instructions from senior stakeholders
  • Analysing and reviewing large volumes of documentation efficiently and accurately
  • Supporting wider regulatory and compliance teams where required
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to their development
  • Playing an active role in maintaining high standards of client service delivery
  • Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the growth of the practice

About You:

  • Experienced Senior Associate with a background in regulatory, compliance or criminal defence work
  • Proven track record of handling complex, sensitive and high-profile matters
  • Confident supervising and supporting junior team members
  • Strong commercial awareness with a proactive, client-focused approach
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ambitious, with a genuine interest in developing within a growing practice
