The Role
In-House Solicitor Advocate - Liverpool - Hybrid - up to £70,000
A leading law firm is seeking an In-House Advocate to join its highly regarded Advocacy team, based in the North-West. This is an excellent opportunity for a Barrister or Solicitor with a genuine interest in advocacy to develop their career within a supportive and high-performing environment, handling a diverse range of contentious matters.
Following continued growth within the department, the firm is looking to appoint a motivated legal professional who is keen to build upon their advocacy experience and undertake a varied caseload of hearings and trials. The role offers regular advocacy opportunities at courts throughout the North West, providing valuable hands-on experience and exposure to a broad range of proceedings. The firm is committed to professional development and will support Solicitors wishing to obtain their Higher Rights of Audience, providing a clear pathway for long-term career progression.
The Role
• Conducting advocacy at a range of hearings, including interlocutory applications and trials
• Advising fee earners and case handlers on complex legal and procedural matters
• Drafting and reviewing pleadings, applications and other legal documentation
• Delivering internal training sessions and technical guidance to colleagues
• Managing a varied caseload across multiple areas of litigation
• Preparing cases for hearings and attending court on behalf of clients
• Providing strategic advice on liability, quantum and litigation tactics
• Working closely with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for clients
• Developing technical expertise and advocacy skills within a specialist team
The Candidate
• Qualified Barrister or Solicitor
• Previous advocacy experience with the confidence to represent clients at hearings and trials
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and court processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities
• Able to manage a varied and demanding workload effectively
• Comfortable working independently whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Commercially aware with a professional and proactive approach
• Ambitious individual looking to develop a long-term career in advocacy
