William James Recruitment is exclusively instructed by a Top UK law firm seeking a Partner or Senior Associate to join its largest specialist Contentious Construction team. The firm provides expert advice to UK and international clients and operates across multiple offices, including London and throughout the UK. Its practice covers real estate, corporate and commercial, dispute resolution and risk, banking and finance, and personal and family law.

The Contentious Construction team is the largest team within the firm, combining deep disputes experience handling high-value litigation, complex arbitrations, public inquiries, cross-border projects, and new engineering contracts. The team is seeking Partners and Senior Lawyers to join as part of its ambitious expansion strategy. The role can be based entirely remotely and offers the opportunity to develop English law work, expand client relationships throughout the UK, and contribute to a strategic plan that aims to grow team turnover from £7.2m to £10m within the next two years.

The Candidate

  • Partner or Senior Associate with strong contentious construction or engineering disputes experience
  • Experience across infrastructure, commercial, housing, renewables, or PFI/PPP sectors highly desirable
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and originate work, particularly in England & Wales
  • Comfortable handling high-value, complex disputes
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and motivated to contribute to the growth of the team and firm
  • Collaborative, commercially aware, and client-focused
