An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Fitness to Practice Solicitor to join a highly regarded national regulatory team in London. The Fitness to Practice Solicitor will act for professional regulators, particularly within the healthcare sector, handling complex regulatory investigations and fitness to practice matters in London. This role involves managing cases from initial investigation through to final hearing, with exposure to sensitive and high-profile matters alongside strong support and clear progression opportunities.

The Role:

  • Manage a caseload of fitness to practice and professional discipline investigations
  • Prepare case plans and provide advice on procedural and evidential issues
  • Act as the main point of contact for witnesses and key stakeholders
  • Oversee evidence gathering, disclosure and witness statements
  • Instruct experts and liaise with internal and external advocates
  • Draft or review allegations and prepare cases for hearing
  • Attend hearings where legal or procedural issues arise
  • Present cases before practice committees and interim orders panels
  • Prepare reports and recommendations at the conclusion of cases

About You:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in regulatory, disciplinary or litigation work
  • Experience in fitness to practice, healthcare regulation or professional discipline is highly desirable
  • Strong case management and investigative skills
  • Confident handling sensitive material and vulnerable witnesses
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and attention-to-detail skills
  • Comfortable working with counsel and managing complex evidence
  • Organised, resilient and able to manage competing deadlines
