William James Recruitment has been instructed on a confidential Partner-level opportunity within a leading full-service, multi-national law firm to join its Class Actions / Group Litigation practice in London.
The firm operates internationally offering a genuinely cross-border platform for complex disputes. The London-based group litigation team is substantial and well established, comprising over 20 lawyers including multiple partners, many of whom trained and practised at leading City and international firms.
The practice acts for a broad claimant base ranging from retail consumers and individuals through to SMEs and institutional investors, including pension funds. Matters frequently involve financial products, regulatory failings, competition issues, and data-related claims, and the team has a strong track record in bringing large-scale, high-profile group actions.
The firm is particularly recognised for its expertise in structuring and funding group litigation, working closely with third-party funders and ATE insurers to make complex and high-value claims viable. The team has been involved in a number of landmark and precedent-setting cases, including major competition, shareholder, financial services and consumer actions.
This role offers the opportunity to play a senior role within a market-leading class actions practice, contributing to strategy, client development, and the continued growth of the group litigation offering.
The Candidate
- Established Class Actions / Group Litigation Partner or senior lawyer operating at partner level
- Strong experience in collective actions, competition claims, shareholder actions, or large-scale complex disputes
- Proven ability to manage and lead complex, high-value litigation
- Experience working with litigation funders and ATE insurers highly advantageous
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and commercially minded
- Comfortable operating within a large, international, full-service platform
