Job Description

EL / PL Solicitor – Glasgow – Up to £47,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

As the firm continues to expand its Casualty Team, they are seeking a Solicitor to join their Glasgow office, focusing on Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims.

In this role, you will manage a diverse caseload of Defendant fast-track and multi-track EL/PL matters, with the opportunity to assist Partners on Catastrophic Injury cases. The ideal candidate will have experience defending litigated claims and a strong understanding of CPR and litigation processes.

With a steady stream of new instructions from existing clients, we are looking for a motivated and technically skilled lawyer who can build strong relationships and provide exceptional service.

The Role

  • Manage a varied caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, including fast-track and multi-track matters
  • Work on complex liability and injury cases, including catastrophic injury and high-value claims
  • Assist with both pre-litigation and litigated files, handling all aspects of case progression
  • Support clients on coverage and indemnity issues where required
  • Draft legal documents, correspondence, and client updates with strong attention to detail
  • Attend hearings, CMCs, and settlement meetings, and ensure compliance with court timetables

The Candidate

  • 0-3 years PQE, ideally with experience in defending litigated claims
  • Excellent knowledge of CPR and litigation
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • High standard of verbal and numerical reasoning
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate information clearly and logically
