A leading national casualty practice is seeking a Sports Injury Solicitor to join its dedicated Sports team in London. The team specialises in defending high-value and high-profile claims for sports governing bodies, clubs, athletes and their insurers. You will support a market-leading practice, working alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers on complex sports-related liability matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong casualty experience who is looking to specialise in sports injury and related claims within a high-performing, national team.
The Role
- Assist with the defence of sports-related injury claims, including EL/PL matters and other high-value disputes
- Support case preparation, including disclosure and document review, legal research, and drafting witness statements
- Prepare instructions to counsel and experts, and assist in trial preparation
- Attend court hearings, client meetings, and conferences as required
- Draft client reports, correspondence, and legal documents with a high level of accuracy
- Respond promptly to client and third-party enquiries, maintaining strong client service standards
- Support business development and team growth through client engagement and professional contributions
The Candidate
- Qualified solicitor with 5+ PQE in personal injury or casualty defence work
- Experience handling EL/PL claims is essential; sports-related experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of CPR and litigation processes
- Excellent drafting, analytical and case management skills
- Confident handling high-value, complex and sensitive claims
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Commercially aware and able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Interest in sport and sports-related disputes is advantageous
